Founded by the 1996 Sayreville Bombers Football Team.

After graduating 18 seniors in 1995 and coming of a season just below 500, the newspapers were calling the 96 season a rebuilding year for the Bombers.  We were picked to lose our first home game against the JP Stevens Hawks but erased any doubts with a 21-3 victory.  The Bombers went into the White Division Championship undefeated (7-0) against Woodbridge(6-1) and won 13-6 taking home the White Division title for the first time in school history.  That win put us at 8-0 clinching the division and a first round by in the playoffs.  The last game of the season was against the group 4 Red Division Powerhouse, Piscataway.  We won this game 35-34 in triple overtime making us the 2nd team in school history to have an undefeated regular season.

Our post season bracket featured the Number 1 team in the state, Neptune(1 seed) who was favored to win the state title.  Ironically they fell to an under dogged Hamilton West(4 seed) team.  Sayreville (2 seed) faced Franklin(3 seed) who had the top offense in the state but only allowed 6 points in the first half and 1 first down.  This TD was scored when our DB slipped in coverage but made up for it returning the ensuing kickoff 96 yards for a TD before the half.  A holding penalty erased a 54 yard bomb before the half that would have put us in position to score again but it was called back.  Sayreville lost 20-13 that day and Franklin went on to win states 38-0 in Giants Stadium.

The next year Sayreville won it`s first state championship in school history against Middletown South.  I`ll never forget the fans, coaches, and players in 96 for as long as I live.  I wonder everyday if life will ever be as good as it was then.  I`m confident we had one of the sickest squads in the country and I hope to reunite through Town Beef for a second chance to prove ourselves.  Everyone wearing blue is from the same cut of cloth on our team and we live and die to play Bomber Football so Bring IT!
