Rules - Game Play
 

Formations / Positions <back
  • 2 lineman
  • 1 QB
  • 4 Skilled Positions.  These positions can be running backs or receivers or both.  Eligible receivers lined up close to the lineman must raise their hand and declare them selves a receiver before the start of each play.

Scoring
No field goals, why kicking was ever a part of football is beyond me.  Touchdowns are worth a point.  No safeties.

Starting the Game
The game will be started with a coin toss.  The winner elects to kick or receive and whoever kicks off gets the ball in the second half.  There are no actual kick offs, the team with the ball will start on their own 20 yard line.

Overtime Rules
A coin toss will determine possession.  Rules will be "Texas Shoot-Out" style.  Each team will get 4 tries from the defenses 20 yard line to punch the ball in.  If you score first you have to then stop the other team from scoring to win.  If you don't score and the other team scores on their possession or they score on a turn over then they win.  Teams will play until there is a winner.
 
Time Clock and Timeouts » <back
Time Clock
The Home Team is responsible for having a time device to keep track of the game. We will play 2 periods each 30 minutes. There will be a 10 minute Half Time.  The clock will run automatically until the 2 minute warning.  Under 2 minutes in each period the clock will stop for incompletion, timeouts, and if a player runs out of bounds or is pushed out of bounds.

Timeouts
 Each team will have 2 timeouts in each period.  Time outs are 90 seconds long.

The game will be played on a regulation football field using the sideline and the far hash marks for the boundaries. 

 
Possession and Punting »  <back
Offense
The offense needs to move the ball 10 yards in 4 downs or they will turn the ball over to the other team.  If you decide to punt on 4th down (we don't actually punt) the ball will be spotted 45 Yards from the line of scrimmage pushing the defense back.  If you have the ball on or within the 45 Yard Line a punt will result in pushing the defense back half the distance to the goal line.  For example: if you have the ball on the 30 yard line and want to punt you would be pushing the defense back to the 15 yard line.

Offense
We will have yard markers for down and distance by game time.  The subs on the sideline will be keeping track.
Penalties »  <back
Blatant penalties will usually result in down over and the team opposite the offender will have the option of course to decline.  Below are a list of penalties that will result in down over.
  • Holding
  • Clipping
  • Off sides

Pass interference will be a judgment call between the receiver and defender.  This penalty will move the offense forward 10 yards and give them an automatic first down.  If the offense is within the 10 yard line the ball will be marked off halfway to the goal line.

Penalties for personal fouls.
There are no penalties for personal fouls you will just be ejected from the game.  Personal fouls include but are not limited to:

  • Late hits
  • Pile Ons
  • Consecutive penalties (commit the same penalty 3 times and its time to go home)
  • Fighting
  • Mouthing off or starting a fight
  • If anyone from your team comes onto the field because of an argument you might as well keep walking because your going home.  I don't wana be a dick but that's how fights start.  If you're not in the play or in the series stay off the field no matter what.
