Beef Bowl Post Game Write Up

In all 3 meetings between these great teams the Broncos won the coin toss and elected to go on defense. All 3 times the Bombers failed to get a first down and had to give the ball up to one of the most feared offenses in the league. As they usually do, the Broncos chewed up field but the Bombers top ranked defense stepped up when Fitz cut off a bullet giving the Bombers a second chance on offense. After producing only 2 yards on 3 plays the Bombers elected to go for it on fourth down when Dirtt found Daballz crossing over the middle for the first down setting up a Mikey Shakes TD run. On the Broncos next possession it was more of Ferriols role out style that began to march the Broncos down the field but King$ the strip artist wrestled a ball away from a Broncos receiver. King$ then hauled a bomb on about the 5 yard line setting up a Holmes TD reception. With little time left on the clock before the half and no timeouts remaining Ferriol found Luzzi on a simple out patter that number 2 turned into big play setting up what would have been a last second TD before the half but time expired. In the second half the Broncos only trailing by 2 points drove down the field again setting up a forth and 2 in scoring position but number #55 Goose tattooed Luzzi on a run play for a loss of yards and change of possession. After struggling in the run game Dirtt's precision passing sliced up the Broncos secondary setting up a Daballz TD reception bringing the deficit to 3 unanswered scores. After another Broncos drive fell short of a score the Bombers drove again downfield setting up another Mikey Shakes TD bringing home another Beef Bowl championship for the Bombers.

Beef Bowl Predictions

The Broncos handed the Bombers their only defeat ever in last years Fall Brawl Tournament with a convincing score of 6-2. The Bombers were missing some key players but the score was convincing and when the two teams met up again in the 07 regular season the Bombers bounced back winning by the same deficit of 6-2. With their eyes on the prize both teams have short memories of previous battles and there's only one thing on their minds now, BEEF BOWL II.

The Broncos 4 losses during the regular season can be chalked up to personnel issues obviously after blanking the number 2 seed in the Semi Finals. I do think not getting the first round bye has put the Broncos in a vulnerable state. They had to face the Ligers in the first round of the Playoffs a team nobody wanted to see because of their physical characteristics on defense and the way they punish opposing teams. They were up early on the SE Boyz but couldn't put out the fire leading to more injuries and players getting banged up. I'm giving the Bombers some edge right there being healthier then the Broncos.

In their last match up the Broncos Air it out offense was kept in check by the Bombers safeties Poore and King$ forcing them out of their game plan. I think the Broncos will scheme differently this week and try to take advantage of a very aggressive defense. Luzzi is playing the best football in his TownBeef career right now when it counts during the playoffs and will be matched up against the Speedy Fitz man to man. Last week when the SE Boyz tried manning him up he made them pay for it. The Broncos are a rhythm offense but Ferriol can make plays with his feet when out of the pocket. If he goes down Ritacco will step in and although they don't lose anything in the passing game he is not as much a runing threat as Ferriol and look for the Bombers pass rush to make either QB uncomfortable.

When the Bombers O takes the field they'll be sporting a new package the Broncos D hasn't seen too much off. The Bombers have had some close games and haven't blown alot of teams out but have scored when needed and took the wind out of opposing defensives with their methodical offensive drives. Dirtt doesn't get the write ups like some of these other high profile QBs but ask any saftey in the league, his pin point accuracy is disgusting and just when you think you've dropped back far enough out of his passing range you'll find the ball sailing 20 more yards over your head. Look for him to find his favorite targets in Holmes, Daballz, and Filthy stretching the D and opening lanes for the punishing running style of Mikey Shakes.

If this was a boxing match the Broncos are the brawlers and have a punchers chance and the Bombers are the boxers that like to control the game. I'm not picking this game, sorry you had to read all this to find that out.

Pre Game Write Up - Post Game
If the Wreckin Crew goes on to win this game and after what I saw them do against the Preds I would give them the nod to win the Beef Bowl. This is not the same team the Preds beat or the Bombers beat and they showed that last week. Their Wish Bone offense is executed to perfection and they're patient with their running attack. They get down field and block really well and their 3 headed running game better be taken seriously by the Bombers Defense or it could be a long day. In their first meeting the Bombers offense was held to a season low of 3 points but the Defense destroyed a Wreckin Crew offense that was out of sink. There are some key match ups this week. The Apprentice getting down field and blocking is a problem so I'll look for the Animal to show why he was defensive player in the state in High School when those two match up. The Bombers Line Backers vs. the 3 headed running back offense. Look for King$ and Poore to help Little Beast out in making open field tackles. I think the Wreckin Crew have the athletes, have the game plan so they are going to give the Bombers a run for their money. Look for the Bombers to edge this out on a big turn over or trick play in a close battle.

Post Game Write Up
On the Wreckin Crew's first Drive Poore picked off EDot setting up a Dirtt to Daballz TD putting the Bombers up early. On the second drive King$ picked up a lose ball and raced to the endzone for another score. The Bombers busted another long pass play but tried getting fancy by pitching the ball around and JHova recovered the lose ball resulting in a Wrecking Crew TD pass that he also caught. Despite early turnovers the Wreckin Crew put together a great defensive stand that forced the Bombers to punt. The WC drove resiliently into enemy territory setting up the tying TD, but King$ came up huge with an INT leading to another Bomber TD. The final score was 3-1 a very close game decided by 2 key turnovers.

Pre Game Write Up - Post Game
People may look at the Broncos record and say 7-5 vs. 9-1 but there is something else you need to look at. The Broncos are 3-0 in post season games. The SE Boyz are a team I know little about. They have tremendous speed at receiver and in the back field. Each team is graced with plenty of speed. The SE Boyz have some height advantage at receiver. Ferriol and Luzzi are coming off of their best game yet and if they can carry that into this game it will create problems for the SE Boyz. JDeli, captain of the SE Boyz will be playing Luzzi man to man in an attempt to slow him down, if he succeeds look for Ferriol to scramble and find his other receivers in Chico and PDatdude. I think this game is going to be the highest scoring playoff game ever. It's like the Rams vs. well I guess the other Rams. Defense wins this game and I think the SE Boyz got the tools to slow the Broncos down but do they have the heart to stick with it for a full 70 minutes of football. I look for the Broncos to enforce their will and make more plays on defense to win this close game.

Post Game Write Up
11-8 Broncos over the SE Boyz. Highest scoring game ever and with the athletes that stepped out on the field that day it was the obvious call. The Broncos were up early 5-1 but Deli snapped the momentum taking a pick to the house. The Broncos lost their star signal caller at one point in the game and on came a back up that nobody knew. This guy they call Ritacco lit up the SE Boyz secondary with the help of Luzzi, Mikey Tokes, and Chico at receiver. Early turnovers seemed to have crippled the SE Boyz but a man named P.M.B took matters into his own hands looking like a track star at times. The SE Boyz rallied back and showed why they belonged on the same field as the defending Fall Brawl Champs but it was too little too late and the Broncos held on for the victory.

Pre Game Write Up - Post Game This is a rematch of what was a very close game a few weeks ago both teams needing a victory and the Preds pulled it out. Out of the 5 new teams in 07 the Wreckin Crew are the only left standing. The Wrecking Crew have more big men, they have more receivers, they run an offense, on paper you'd be nuts not to go with the Wreckin Crew. After getting blown out by the Broncos I thought the Preds might have been exposed but they quickly erased any doubt. Fox is not only slicen up defenses he's finishing his runs and punishing tacklers, something I've never seen the 150lb running back do from Trenton. Dymes has accepted his new role as the QB on defense and has created havoc for opposing offenses. I think we'll see some car accidents when Unyce and the WC's Full back go head to head again with A-rock and Beym. I think the Preds will be more ready mentally and have playoff experience so I'm giving them the nod again this week. Post Game Write Up It was as if the Wreckin Crew used my prediction as a game plan to defeat the Predators. The Wreckin Crew broke out with an offense the league has never seen before, the Wish Bone. The larger team on the field took advantage of the Preds pounding the ball and executing precision play fakes that set up screens and other options from the Bone. The Preds were missing their middle linebacker and D Tackle for the first half and allowed 4 points. The Wreckin Crew's D made it's stand upsetting the Predators and moving on to play the Bombers in the Semi Finals.		Pre Game Write Up - Post Game There is one big IF in this game and it's IF the Ligers D can stop the Broncos Arial Assault. DMS Liger and Punch93 will have to get pressure on Ferriol, their team is depending on it. In their first match up against the Broncos the back up QB tore up the Ligers secondary and went up 2 zip in about 5 minutes. The Ligers stingy D didn't give up and eventually muscled the game away from the Broncos. I do think the Ligers Defense is good enough to play with the Broncos. You know the Broncos are gonna put points on the board with Luzzi and Ferriol but can the Ligers O go blow for blow if its that type of game. I don't think so. I'm going Broncos. Post Game Write Up The Broncos got off to a Bumpy start even before the game when they only showed up with 9 guys to play. It appeared that the Ligers pass rush lead by DMS would create havoc for the Broncos QB but his elusiveness eventually wore on the Ligers D and Ferriol began to put together his best day at the QB position. This game was not all Broncos in the first half. The Ligers D picked a few passes and the Offense put together some big plays at one point that put them in the lead. Luzzi and Chico made some incredible catches and Pdatdude was also involved in a passing attack that eventually sunk the Ligers. Luzzi's running ability was clearly on display as he diced up the Ligers secondary after each catch. The Broncos will go on to meet the SE Boyz to see who plays in the 2007 Beef Bowl.
