Hitmen
With BBK making some late additions to their offense, the league would
expect them to blast off with a blow out. Featuring future hall of
fame QB Moospitt and his supporting SWG cast, the BIC Defense will have
their hands full all day. On the other side of the ball is where the
match up gets interesting. Hall of Fame running back, E.Fox will be
giving the BBK defense headaches all day. Really this game comes
down to how many times BIC can stop the BBK offense and I don't think
enough to get the job done. I'm going BBK.

Bullies
This will be the first time these teams will meet in a TownBeef
game. The Bullies have had a great offense in the past but an even
better defense. There receivers are talented and they got a hard
nose fullback that doesn't get much attention but he should. AC is
the biggest mouth in the league but backs it up as one of the top
defensive ends. The Bombers lost 2 of there top threats on offense
in Mikey Shakes and King$T but their entire defense is returning. If
the Bombers can put together scoring drives their defense will come up big
for a blue victory.

Wreckin Crew vs. Chiefs
Maybe the two biggest teams up front, the field just ain't big enough for
that Chiefs D line and future hall of fame linemen "THE APPRENTICE."
The Wrecking Crew is a solid team on Defense lead by any QBs worst
nightmare Flako and DT E. Dot. J Hova is a vicious hitter and leads
a great secondary. I'm not sure what they have returning on offense
but they're a playoff team for sure. The Chiefs of Union City have
the size to match up with anybody and with Mr. Morales at running back
they have good weapons on offense. These are two evenly matched
teams but I'm going the WC experience in this game.

Grounderz
The Ruff Grounderz are the best new team returning from the 08 Fall Brawl
and have plenty of size and speed to go deep into the playoffs.
Gotta is a clear headed QB that can turn the lights out with his speed.
There D Line and Linebackers are among the best in stopping the run, I
like this team. The Comets on the other hand have been knocking on
the door since 2006 and they got what it takes to match up with the Ruff
Grounderz physically. I don't know whose playing Q for the Comets so
offense could be a big question mark so I'm going RG.

Panthers
Two new teams for the most part. The Panthers played in
the fall but I didn't get to see any of them. The Wild cats come
from the Woodbridge / Rahway area well known for football. Can't say
for sure but on a hunch I'm going Wild Cats

Rocboyz vs. Punishers
After being dealt the hardest schedule in 08 Spring the Rocboyz
returned in the Fall as the only team from New York. Rocboyz QB is
very shifty and has alot of tricks up his sleeve in their playbook.
The Punishers don't do anything fancy but they play hard D and commit to
the run. I think the Punishers will stop the Rocboyz and put some
drives together but I expect the Rocboyz to catch them off balance a few
times and start the 09 season of with a statement.

SEB vs. Riot Squad
SEB will be without one of there best in #64 Guss. This
team is and has been the greatest show on turf with too much speed on
offense for any defense in the league. They can strike quick and
early. With some new additions to their secondary, mainly at the
Safety position this team is poised to go deep into the 09 playoffs.
The Riot Squad is no push over, they have heart and they smack on defense.
Being undermanned and inexperienced this is a tough week 1 for them in
their first spring season. I'm going SEB.

- BBK 8 BIC 3
BBK might have had the
smoothest looking offense of the day. P Gunna is looking like
TownBeefs top running back this year and with a hand full of targets,
MooSpitt is finding his targets Gundy and P. Skillz often. BIC is
a much improved team lead by a great wide receiver in #81. Once
they solve their QB controversy I see them pulling some upsets this
year.
- Bombers 6 vs. Bullies 2
All week
there were rumors going on about who was playing QB for the Bullies but
never in anyone's wildest dreams did the league think it would be King$T.
On his first play wearing a green jersey, King$T booted to his right and
launched a bomb setting a up 12 yard TD run and making short work of the
Bombers top ranked defense. The Bombers answered right back
running the ball effectively and Daballz hitting Night for the TD.
The bullies would only find the enzone 1 more time on the day as the
Bombers D got untracked sacking their ex team mate 8 times. Taylor
Bonner Had 2 TDs on the day one coming from a Nemeth Pass and another on
a Run. Daballz scored 1 rushing and 2 Passing the second to
Holmes. The offense put up 5 and the defense 1 making it a 6-2
final.
- Wreckin Crew 2 vs. Chiefs 0
The
pregame writeup turned out being right on point. The matchup between WC
and the Chiefs was all about defense and the run game. Ironically, the
few pass plays of the day were actually the deciding factor in the
outcome. The Chiefs won the toss and opted to test the WC defense. Runs
from T-Bone and Morales did exactly that. The backs each broke off plays
for chunks of yardage early, however, WC settled down and got a 4th down
stop to force a turnover. and set the tone for the rest of the game. Dru
and the rest of the Chiefs D had their sights on standout RB Puluse all
game, making it difficult for the WC offense to get going. The WC RB
fought hard for yardage all game and got most of his numbers on a few
big runs bounced to the outside. The game remained scoreless until
midway through the second quarter when WC QB Lamego threaded the needle
on a 15 yard pass across the middle to U'Nyce who finished the play 35
yards later in the endzone. The following Chiefs drive was killed on a
3rd down interception by CB Chico, giving WC the ball in Chiefs
territory with under 5 minutes left in the half. A screen to TE E-Dot
and downfield blocking from the Apprentice set their offense up at the
goal line. The drive was capped by a short TD run from Puluse, putting
WC up 2-0 going into the half. This proved to be all the scoring WC
needed. The Chiefs tried spreading things out in the 2nd half and
threatened in the 4th, but a goal line strip by E-Dot and recovery by LB
Benny helped secure the shutout.

the rocboyz
came out quick with a 3 down TD drive, from munybagz to
big lou,
which started the game of great, and then out on defense, the d
forced a fumble turnover by canjura who recovered as well.. leading to
another quick score from the quick passes over the dbacks, which
actually resluted in a qb sneak on the goaline fumble and white g picks
it
up for a td.. the roc boyz then come back out on defense for the
second
time causing their secong turnover in a row, with and
interception by jon
means.. stepping up there d for the next 2 drives
the punishers cause a
turnover and get the ball back scoring with
less than a minute before the
half .. coming out of half down 2-1 the
punishers are on offense but cant
seem to keep the ball away from the
roc boyz dbacks leading to a jowill
pick to set up another scoring
drive lead by the roc boyz pass attack..
with a td to bread the TE..
continuing to hold firm the roc boyz defense
held the punishers down
on fourth down which got the roc boyz the ball
back, leading to yet
another td thru the pass attack, deep to Chris Felico
.. late in the
game, not letting up the punishers manage to get a good
drive
together really there first one.. and get one more in right before the
game ends.. making the score a more respectable 4-2

sacks for the game..

- BBK vs. Punishers
The
Punishers are a strong team but came up real short against the Rocboyz
in week 1. They'll have their hands full again in week 2 when the
face off with BBK. The one thing BBK is lacking is depth, even
though when they put out their 7 its better then just about anyone elses
they only have 3 or 4 in reserve. The BBK made light work of an
inexperienced BIC team but will be put to the test in week 2. If
the Punisher D can slow down Gunna they got a shot but I don't think
often enough to get the win so I'm going BBK.

- Bombers vs. Wrecking Crew
These 2
teams haven't faced each other since the 2007 Semi Finals where the
Bombers won 3-1. The Wreckin Crew have no weaknesses and there
size up front will be a big advantage for their offense. These are
2 sound teams on both sides of the ball. This is an even matchup
so whoever makes less mistakes wins but I gotta go w/the boyz in Blue
again this week.

- Bullies vs. Ruff Grounderz
With
signal caller Gotta sidelined from and ankle injury the Ruff Grounderz
will have to rely heavily on their Defense. The Bullies are a
stacked team and feature the best player in the league with King$T.
Once they find their grove on offense they'll be very difficult to stop.
King$T torched the Ruff Grounderz in their first meeting when he was a
Bomber and I think he'll get it done again. I'm going Bullies.

- Chiefs vs. SEB
1 of 2 things are
gonna happen this week either the Chiefs pull a huge upset or the SEB
get settled in and make a statement. The SEB looked shakey but the
talent is all over the place and you're just waiting for them to
explode. If the Chiefs can sustain drives and cause some turnovers
they can win this game. This is my upset of the week pick here and
I'm going Chiefs.

- Comets vs. Panthers
The Comets smack,
they play D and are a gritty veteran team not alot of people are talking
about. They lost a close one in week 1 to a top team in the Ruff
Grounderz but I think they bounce back with a big win this week against
the Panthers.

- Wildcats vs. Riot Squad
The Riot Squad is a gritty team. They're aggressive on defense and
have plenty of playmakers but not a hole lot of game plan. But
even with no game plan they still went blow for blow with a veteran team
in the SEB. The Wildcats are the best new team in TownBeef and I
think a playoff team for sure. They're very organized and have an
amazing running back coupled with quick wide outs and a witty QB.
This team has all the balance they need to put up points in a hurry.
They need to be ready for a tougher challenge this week but I say the
Wildcats get the W.

- Rocboyz vs. BIC
Rocboyz came out of the gate with a burst in their step blanking a great
Punisher squad. The face a BIC team that has struggled in week one
but finished on a positive note putting up 3 scores on an elite TownBeef
team in BBK. EFox was out with a cold last week but if he returns
the Rocboyz will have their hands full. I think the Rocboyz are
solid and with a year under their belt they'll get the W in a game
they're "suppose to win."

A
pivotal game for both teams will come down to can the Bullies stop BBK's
rushing attack and crafty play action. I think the Matchup is even
I give the Bullies an edge for having more speed at QB but the BBK have
a way better offensive line and a better running back in PGunna. I
think this will be a high scoring game but the smart money is on BBK.

- BIC vs. Punishers
The BIC hit
some strides against the Rocboyz on Sunday and hopefully can build off
it. They have some great players that are from the original
Predators with Silver, Speedy, Big Play Jay, and Fox. If those
guys can take this team under there wings they can win some games.
I think Fox needs to stay at RB and leave Big Play at QB and BIC could
edge out the Punishers. Not the popular choice of the week but
look for BIC to get that upset.

- Bombers vs. Comets
2 times
these teams have met and both times the game was won by the Bombers
within the last 30 seconds of play. These two teams know each
other well and leave it all on the field whenever they face off. I
think the Bombers defense is possibly the best in the league and if
their offense can continue to role with the Freshman running back
sensation Rasheem Clarke I think they'll get the W.

- Chiefs vs. Ruff Grounderz
I
picked the Chiefs to win last week and was wrong but I'm going with them
again this week. With Gotta out from the QB spot, the Ruff
Grounderz offense will struggle and that running game of the Chiefs will
chew up the clock and put up 2 scores. I'm going Chiefs.

- Panthers vs. Riot Squad
The
Riot Squad put up a better showing against the Wildcats then the
Panthers did and they also held strong against SEB. The Riot Squad
is tuff but don't really follow too much of a game plan on offense.
I think the Panthers are a little more organized and if they execute
they get there W this week.

- Rocboyz vs. Wreckin Crew
After
coming off one of there less notable performances in franchise history,
the Wreckin Crew will look to make a statement this Sunday in
Hackensack. Blessed with size, speed, and maybe one of the hardest
runners in the league next to Gunna the Rocboyz D will have its hands
full. The Rocboyz are 2-0 starting in 09, their best start to date
and they are drooling for 3-0. If they can find away to keep the
Wreckin Crews front 3 on defense off Moneybags they can win this game.
They're big enough to bang up front with WC and pending turnovers I
think Rocboyz get this W.

- SEB vs. Wildcats
2-0 vs. 2-0,
game of the week right here. The Wildcats made light work of a
gritty Riot Squad team while SEB struggled. I'm sure SEB is banged
up after facing some of the Monsters that play on the Chiefs and that
will take its toll on them this week. The Wildcats will have there
first real challenge facing a team thats made several playoff
appearences and features a very tough defense and one of the leagues
shiftiest QBs in Quan. I think the Wildcats can't wait to show the
league what they got and with their top flight running back, smart QB
and fast receivers they're gonna beat the SEB.
