- SE Boyz vs. Broncos (8-4)
- Comets vs. Underdogs (7-0)

Central Games
- Bombers vs. Predators (6-2)
The Predators opening drive looked very convincing
with their run game in effect they drove right down the
field but were stopped at around the 15 yard line.
The Bombers opening Drive wasn't as successful as they
went three and out having to punt. The Predators
drove resiliently again only have their drive stall
short of the goal line. They tried going deep on
Fitz "The Shit Talker" several times but he managed to
break up 6 passes in the day. After forcing the
Predators to respect the Bombers ground game led by
Daballz and Mikie Shakes Dirt (2 passing TDs 2 rushing
TDs) heaved a 68 yard bomb (watch the video if you don't
believe it was that far) to Filthy setting up a Daballz
TD run. The Bombers D played awesome containing
the leagues Top Running back and only allowing two
scores.
- Ligers vs. Heavy Hitterz (7-0)
The Ligers are Big, Fast, and they have a new QB
that runs the option something you haven't seen done
that well in TownBeef yet. Oh yeh, he's big and
fast too and can really throw the ball well. The
Heavy Hitterz were never in this game mainly because
their receivers dropped key passes to convert first
downs and their defense could not match the Ligers
speed. The Ligers are 100% better from last year
and way more organized, I'd watch out for them to make a
playoff run in June!
- Liners vs. Thunder (1-0)
Best game of the day in the Central. This was
the hardest hitting game I've ever seen in TownBeef
period! The score was 0-0 towards the end of the
half and the Thunder put together a great drive that
would have lead to a TD but instant replay revealed a
key hold by the O linemen that erased it. The
Liners and Big Nig were kept in check by the Thunder's
Defense clearly led my #4 who punished everyone that
touched the ball. This guy looks like John Lynch
when John Lynch was young still. The Liners
winning TD came on a huge PI call in the end zone that
put them in scoring position and allowing Big Nig to
find the end zone. The Liners Defense played
excellent keeping the Thunder out of the end zone and
causing 4 turnovers the last coming on an INT erasing
any hopes of a last minute score from the Thunder.

Week 2 Predictions
Broncos vs.
Comets *** GAME OF THE
WEEK
These 2 new teams met in last years Fall Brawl in an epic battle.
It would appear that the Comets Defense took over the game early
returning 2 INTs for TDs. The Broncos fought their way back into
contention and won in overtime. In week 1 of season 2 the Comets
erased any doubt that they would be contending for the Beef Bowl when
they hung 7 TDs on an unsuspecting Underdogs team. The Broncos
fell to a frustrated SE Boyz team that was looking to make a statement
in this years opener. Both teams have serious speed in Patel
(Comets) and Luzzi (Broncos). Even though my gut is leaning
towards the Comets I just can't see the Broncos starting off 0-2.
I also think the teams are very equal in all points of the game but the
Broncos have the better QB. I'm predicting a shootout in this game
but I gotta go Broncos.
Preds vs.
Falcons
This rivalry started when Town Beef started and always is a
shootout, high scoring, big play type football game. You know E.
Fox can run the rock and you know he's gonna toast you at some point but
last year the Falcons let him toast them with 3 seconds left to put the
game into overtime eventually leading to a win by the Preds. I
think the Falcons are the bigger more physical team and if they can
control the ball with Echo and Westbrooke and contain Fox they got a
shot. Which of these two veteran teams don't wana be 0-2 to start
the season? We'll soon see. I'm going with the Preds in this
game.
SE Boyz vs.
Bombers
Who are the South End Boyz? A new team as of the fall brawl
that played in some respectable games but failed to get into the
tournament. Maybe some people forgot they have a big physical
defense and a stocky QB that can turn the lights out running the ball.
People started to remember after they blanked last years tournament
champs in the season opener 8-5. These 2 teams met last year and
the Bombers edged out the SE Boys 3-1 but this year its different teams
obviously, different season. The Bombers ground and pound running
game will give their defense the rest they need to try and stop a lethal
running attack headed by the QB Quan. I'm going with the Bombers
in this game.
Shockers vs. Thunder
A birth in the 1st Beef Bowl in 2006 and then a
disappointing 2 game elimination in the fall brawl has me confused on
what Shocker team will be showing up on Sunday. Where is Drama,
where is Blue Shorts and Rod Smith??? Someone better call these
cats because the Thunders Defense might be the best in Town Beef.
Led by #4 Rufolo (waterboy) the Thunder lay the wood, swarm to the ball
and cause Turnovers. On offense they are very committed to the
running game and Radio resembles OJ Simpson. The Shockers are
known to be a very physical team as well and Shocked the Wild Cats in a
7-2 season opener. The Shockers will need to capitalize on
turnovers and force the Thunder to go to the air in order to stay in
this game. I'm going wit the Thunder.
Heavy Hitters vs. Wild Cats
The Heavy Hitters RB/DB is maybe their best player. He can
run the ball very well and he lays the wood from his Defensive Back
Position. Their Secondary is opportunistic and will pick off QBs.
Both of these teams need to earn some respect in Town Beef after being
blown out in week 1. Should be an interesting game and with no
logic behind my guess I'm going with the Heavy Hitterz.
Liners vs. Underdogs
I have not seen the Underdogs but I have seen the Liners.
Pitching a shutout in week 1 the liners Defensive front 4 looks like 4
nose tackles and that's intimidating. They also have this crazy
corner back that comes up and sticks his nose in every play. Oh
yeh, and they got Big Nig one of the most versatile players in Town
Beef. I have to go with the Liners improving to 2-0 in week 2.
Ligers vs. Wreckin
Crew
Have yet to see the Wreckin Crew but I am impressed that they
upset the veteran Falcons team in Week 1. The Ligers have Vince
Young at QB and Jerome Bettis at half back. They are one of the
bigger teams in Town Beef and possess some good all around team speed.
Look for them to improve to 2-0 this week against the Wreckin Crew. |
- Broncos vs.
Comets (8-1)
After losing the season opener to the SE Boyz it was unlikely
last years fall brawl champs would start the season 0-2.
That's easier said then done when facing a comets team that has
great speed and size. Ferriol's (QB) roll out style and sure
handed down field receivers (Luzzi) demoralized the Comets
secondary. Ferriorl took 4 hard shots and it appeared he might
have had to leave the game but just kept puttin his hat back on
ballin. The Broncos erased any doubt that they will be
contending for a Beef Bowl Championship this yeaer.
- Preds vs.
Falcons (3-2 OT)
The Trenton Predators and Hackensack Falcons
have a storied rivalry and always play tough, hard hitting games.
Yesterday's game was no different, with the Preds jumping all over
the Falcons early in the 1st half, running the ball with E. Fox and
stonewalling the Falcons offense with their defense led by MLB
Adam's hard hitting. The Falcons, never being a team to lay down,
fought back with a quick strike from their QB to Jefferson
"Franchise" Martin, an INT by captain Jesse, followed by another
quick strike in the passing game.
With the game tied at the half 2-2, Preds and Falcons went score for
score with players like Trenton's E. Fox, CB/WR Troy, and Dymes
leading the way on offense, and "Franchise" Martin and QB/RB
Westbrooke doing the same for the men from Hackensack. With the game
in the balance and down by 1, the Falcons drove down the field and
hit a wall of black and gold on the 10 yard line. They tried for 3
downs to score a TD to send the game in overtime and failed, and it
looked like the Preds would escape with the W, but Westbrooke
completed a TD pass to who else but the Franchise to tie the game up
at 5-5.
It's not a good idea to try the Trenton Predators in OT, with a
record of 2-0 in OT games heading into yesterdays game, but the
Falcons have OT experience as well, going 3 OTs with the Preds in
the opening weekend of Fall Brawl '06. The Preds scored on an E. Fox
pass to TE Silver, which was bobbled by Troy, bobbled by Westbrooke
going for the INT, and finally snatched up by Silver. The Falcons
tried to answer with a desperate, hard run after recovering his own
fumble by Westbrooke, but on 4th down, his last gasp pass for his WR
fell to the ground, giving the Preds the hard-earned 6-5 victory in
OT
- Bombers vs.
SE Boyz
After 2 straight weeks of trash talk from the SE Boyz the
Bombers had more motivation then needed going into what they
expected to be a TownBeef battle. The Bombers held a 5-1 lead
with 30 seconds left in the half when Dirtt heaved a 60yard bomber
to King $ (Bombers MVP) down to the 1yard line setting up a Mikie
Shakes TD. King $ took 3 fumbles to the house including one
that he stripped before recovering it and racing 70 yards for a TD.
On 2 of the fumbles Poore (TMDPOAT) floored 2 SE Boyz that were
trying to scoop up the ball to free King $ for the TD. On the
offensive side Dirtt found TE Holmes 3 times in the endzone and
Mikie Shakes and Daballz each had a rushing TD. The SE Boyz
receivers started finding holes in the secondary but it was too
little too late. The Bombers gained momentum and never looked
back for a convincing victory of 8-3.
- Thunder vs. Shockers
Nick Lordi had 2 Tds on his first 3 carries and totaled 4 for
the game. Spano the new quarterback threw for 2Tds and ran one in
himself. Pinsdorf LB had 2 interceptions and 1 sack.
Nieves also had an interception on D Rufolo(me) had 1 interception
and a massive hit on a Shocker player that took him out of the game.
We played with only 12 players most of our guys played both ways, we
were missing our HB the guy you guys call Radio and a LB named May.
Our offense scored at will at one point spano ran over 60yards for a
TD that got called back so the next play he threw a long pass and
score a TD. On defense the Shockers maybe got 2 first downs the
whole game. They never had a chance at scoring. It was 5-0 at the
half and it was all downhill from there. (article by Rufolo)
- Wild Cats vs.
Heavy Hitters
- Liners vs. Underdogs (6-4)
This was a great day
for football. Both teams had some EXCELLENT plays. The first score
came from the defense about 45 seconds into the game on a Big Nig
INT. and run. The Underdawgs defense had a rough start letting WR
#31 Shane ''Dippen'' Ellis score on 2 beautiful td's thrown by QB
#14 Kenny Stott, who pretty much had his way with the defense. That
made it 3-0 Liners at the half, still The Underdawgs weren't out.
After half time Pburg came out using there JUMBO package which is
HUGE pounding the ball, and that opened up more of the passing game,
K. Stott hit TE#3 Ronnie ''Romance'' Morgan for a red zone TD, and
the next score came from a gorgeous pass to WR#5 ''Hotdogg'' Herbie
Finch from about 45 yards. Then it was Wilsons turn to show what
they had, They came out using every weapon they had ,they rotated 3
QB's, had a huge TE and alot of skilled players all around. The
Dawgs G.P.3 scored 3 times on some serious catches, and there
offense was makin some plays on the
way 2 a comeback before DE#59 Greg ''The Hammer'' Taynor cut there
drive short and made a heads-up play to INT a short pass, that set
up Stott who ran one in on a QB keeper behind some punishing down
field blocking to tack on the last score of the day for The Liners.
The Underdawgs put one more fantastic pass in the end zone before it
was over, but it wasn't enough. Liners Win 6-4 in a shootout on a
perfect day for football in Phillipsburg. (article by

Week 3 Predictions
Liners vs.
Ligers ***GAME OF THE
WEEK***
I've only seen each team play once so this is a tough one to
call. As much as I love the size and hard nose style from the
Liners D I'm not sure they're fast enough to contain a Liger offense
that can score from anywhere on the field. If the Ligers get up
early I also don't think the Liners have a comeback type offense.
The Ligers turned the ball over a few times against a sub par team and
they will be facing a Liners Defense that has the biggest front 4 in the
league and a vicious hitting secondary. X Factor in this evenly
matched game is BIG NIG. 2 forced turnovers and a TD or 2 from him
and I'm taken the Liners in this battle of the unbeatens.
Bombers vs.
Thunder
The Bombers have had early success and may even be overconfident
going into this week against a very well balanced team in the Thunder.
In the first 2 weeks the Bombers opponents featured speed but this week
its size. I'm pretty sure the Bombers O will have its toughest
test to date as it goes against one of the top rated defenses in the
league. X Factor, Bombers Defense. I don't think the
Thunders O is ready for the quick swarming Bomber Defense and if they
turn it over early you could see a repeat of what happened to the SE
Boyz last week. I'm going Bombers in this one.
Predators vs.
Shockers
The days of the heated rivalries in 06 between these 2 teams
may be over. Trenton is on the move and I'm not sure what the
Shockers are on. After a let down in week 1 against the Bombers
the Predators faced a tough Falcons team and prevailed in overtime.
Dymes is gettin his grove back and although he's had some break away
runs Fox hasn't had a Fox game yet. X Factor is Fox, I'm thinking
5 TDs for him this day I'm goin with the Preds on the Hunt BITCH!
Broncos vs.
Wreckin Crew
If you can't defend the pass you better go home, if you can't contain a
running QB you better expect an ass whoopen from the Broncos.
Their recievers led by Luzzi get down field in a hurry and The QB
Ferriol can reach them on the run no problem. I haven't seen the
Wreckin Crew yet but I highly doubt they'll come away with a victory in
this game. Broncos all the way.
Falcons vs.
Heavy Hitterz
I'm not sure whats up with the Heavy Hitterz but if they think they're
gonna show up for an easy game they're wrong! The Falcons are much
improved, have a stacked roster and they're bulky and bruising.
Echo is a Monster and Jesse is starting to make some nice plays from his
safety position. If they Hitterz show I'm goin with the Falcons. |
- Ligers vs. Liners 4-1 **game
of the week**
2 teams with 2 perfect records battled for supremacy to
earn respect as potential Beef Bowl contenders. The Ligers
defense applied pressure all day led by DT / LB (man with the braids
and green shorts) who had multiple tackles for losses, sacks, and an
INT. On the other side of the ball the Ligers feature the most
versatile running back in Town Beef. Bikerboy is strong, fast,
and is a threat on deep passes. Big Nig was the X factor in
this game meaning the Ligers would have to keep him out of the
endzone which they did. As he always does, Big Nig broke some
tackles and had some amazing runs but not enough to spring a Liners
victory. Hats off to the ligers for defeating my prediction,
only the 3rd team to do it.
- SE Boyz vs. Comets (6-5)
Comets VS SE Boyz. 1st Half: Quan broke free on an 80 yard run
to put SE Boyz up 1-0 on the opening drive. A last second heave by
Enve to Daryl with 3 seconds left in the half put the game at a tie.
Both teams really couldn't do anything in the first half because of
the snowy conditions they agreed to play in. Coming out in the
second half The SE Boyz took charge by scoring immediately with a
pass play to Jookz which was an acrobatic catch. The Comets Offense
could not get the job done as The SE Boyz shut down Patel. Deli's
INT looked like it locked up the game for the SE Boyz but they
fumbled on Offense to give the Comets the ball back. The Comets took
charge driving down field and a Touchdown pass to D.C. tied the game
and forced it into overtime. Going 6 OT's The SE BOyz finally
wrapped it up with an INT from Elis and sealed the victory.
- Falcons vs. Heavy Hitterz (8-1)
This week 3 matchup put up a Veteran team in the Falcons and a new
rookie team in the Heavy Hitters. Falcons came out fired up. First
few minutes of the game were 3 and outs for both the Falcons and the
Heavy Hitters. Falcons were the first to strike, and led the whole
way, Jefferson "The Franchise" Martin led the offense with 3 TD's
and also had a INT on Defense which he took to the house, another
career day for him. Heavy Hitters showed a huge heart driving down
the field with a full head of steam on the shoulder of their running
back, but the Falcons Defense came up strong, stonewalling the Heavy
Hitters on the goal line, Anthony "Uno" Torres was the brick wall
the Heavy Hitters hit that prevent the TD. But the Heavy Hitters
were still playing strong. On sweep play to the right the Heavy
Hitters running back too it to the house on a 60+ yard run to the
endzone. Even though that was the Heavy Hitters only score, they
played their asses off, they have a lot of heart and alot of talent,
especially at WR both of their receivers had excellent catchs but
weren't able to capitalize on them, the Falcons Defense took over
the game. Jesse "Capo" Alcivar had his 2nd consecutive game with a
INT, and Eco "S.A" Medellin and Chops "Westbrooke" pounding running
game set the tone for the passing game lead by "The Franchise" and
John "PrimeTime" Porrino with 2 50+ yard deep bombs which set up 2
scores for the Falcons. At the end of the day, it was an excellent
day of football between the Falcons and the Heavy Hitters.
- Bombers vs. Thunder (8-2)
Playing the Bombers is a difficult task itself but doing so without
your starting QB and RB can make it that much more difficult.
The Thunder's defense only allowed 1 score in its first 2 games and
was regarded as a force in the league. On the Bombers opening
drive they did a good job containing Daballz (2TDs) and Shakes
(2TDs) but that opened the door for Dirtt(3TDs) to heave a 40 yard
bomb to Filthy. On the other side of the ball the Bombers
Defense led by Saftey King T$ and LB Goose ran ruff shop on a
confused Thunder offense. Goose had about 9 solo tackles and
King T$ had a pic for a TD. OLB Zezza forced a fumble,
recovered a fumble, and had an INT. Look for the Thunder to
bounce back quick when they sport their full roster.
- Predators vs. Shockers (5-1)
The Predators and Shockers are one of Town Beefs oldest
rivalries, dating back to the first ever OT game in Week 2 of the
Spring '06 season. E. Fox showed his skills at QB this game, moving
the ball on the air and ground, taking a 60 yard run to the house on
the second play on offense for the Preds, diving into the endzone a
la Reggie Bush at USC. It was more of the same the 2nd score Fox had
in the half, putting the Shockers down 2-0. It was a long day for
the Shockers offense, grinding the ball out on the ground and
utilizing a West Coast passing game, but never punching the ball in
the endzone in the first half. The second half opened with Fox
hurdling into the endzone for his third and final score of the day.
Dymes came in relief of E. Fox at QB, launching a rocket of a pass
to WR/CB Al for a score. The Shockers finally got the ball moving
consistently in the 2nd half, and using accurate passing and a
punishing running game, scored on a 15 yard pass to their TE. The
Preds got the ball back and played ball control, running the ball
with QB scrambles from Dymes, ending with a Dymes run for a score.

Week 4 Predictions
Preds vs. Ligers ***GAME OF THE
WEEK*** One thing about the Preds I can be certain of is they will come
to play and I think their experience and explosiveness will help
them get off first on Sunday. 2 great running backs square off
this week in Fox and BikerBoy so they cancel each other out. Trenton
has more experience at QB but the Ligers are very aggressive up
front and get to the ball in a hurry. I think the Preds are
overmatched and to come up with a W they will need to capitalize on
turnovers. I think the Ligers grab this win and make a
statement by defeating an experienced Trenton team. I'm going
Ligers.
S.E. Boyz vs. Thunder 2 teams off to bumpy starts. Big wins followed by big
losses. On paper the SE boyz are very quick, very quick and
put up 8 TDs against a good Bronco defense. Radio (Thunder RB)
is a difference maker for that team and their success will rely on
his presence. The back up QB (Spano) is strong and sees the
field very well when he's running, he's also got a great arm but
takes risks down field. The S.E. Boyz can run away with this
game if they start clicking on offense. If the SE Boyz get the
momentum going I don't think the Thunder can stop them. I know
one thing that will be in the back of all SE Boyz receivers, and
thats WaterBoy (Ruffulo) layen the wood. I'm going with the SE
Boyz.
Broncos vs. Falcons Size, speed, toughness, heart. The Falcons have all the
attributes to be a good team or even a playoff team in this league
but their good players need to step up when they face a Broncos team
that will frustrate and run D Backs in circles. The Broncos QB
(Ferriol) scrambles very well while his receivers make double in
triple moves down field. The Falcons will need to get to
Ferriol quickly in order to make him get rid of the ball earlier
then he wants to. This might be a closer game then some would
think but I'm taking the Broncos.
Comets vs. Wreckin Crew I've yet to see the Wreckin Crew play but the Comets are hungry
and I'm sure very dissapointed to the start of this season.
They know they got the talent to play on the same field with any
team in this league but thats not gonna get you Ws in this league.
If the Wrecking Crew pulls out a win this week I'll soon know
without having to see them that they are for real. F it, I'm
going Wrecking Crew for my UPSET OF THE WEEK!
|
- Preds vs. Ligers ***GAME OF THE
WEEK*** Preds win 4-3
The most anticipated game of Week 4, the Trenton Predators and
West Orange Ligers played a game for the ages in a monsoon in
Sayreville. West Orange was fighting to make a statement to the
whole league that they had arrived by beating a veteran Trenton
team, and Trenton was fighting to make a statement that they were
still an elite team.
The game opened up with the Predators forcing a 3 and out by the
Ligers offense, then scoring on an E. Fox pass to Speedie. West
Orange answered right back on the ground with a TD run by BikerBoy,
then stopped the Preds offense and scored again before the half on a
TD run by Leon to make it 2-1.
The second half began with the Preds getting the ball and E. Fox
scoring on a long TD run. West Orange stayed a step ahead, with QB
Mimz scoring on a hard ran QB scramble to make the score 3-2. As
time wound down within 3 minutes, the momentum swung in Trenton's
favor. After stopping Trenton's offense again, the Ligers got the
ball on the 30 and QB #34 threw a pass that bounced off WR #9's
hands and into the waiting arms of E. Fox. Hard downfield blocking
and Fox's shifty running put the Preds in great position to score on
an E. Fox run lead by lead blocker Adam and OT Busta. The Ligers
regained possession with 23 seconds left on their 20, and on the
first play of the possession pressure from J. Sib forced QB Mimz to
try to throw the ball away but Big Jay was there to intercept the
throw and walk it in for the score, putting Trenton up 4-3. West
Orange had 18 seconds left and began to drive down the field with
runs and passes, but a last ditch throw with 2 seconds left fell to
the ground, giving the Trenton Predators their 3rd victory of the
season, and the Ligers their first loss.
- Comets vs. Wreckin Crew ***UPSET
OF THE WEEK*** Wreckin Crew Upsets 3-1
The Newark Wreckin Crew went up to Hackensack to play the Comets
on their home field. It was obvious that the rain was going to have
an impact on the game, and two early mistakes by each team proved
that. The Comets won the toss and went right to work trying to
establish the running game. After a few small gains, a pitch to #3
was broken up and recovered by #9 Keith Santos for the Wreckin Crew.
With the ball in Comets territory, the Wreckin' Crew had an
opportunity to put one in the endzone. Feeling the pressure early,
the Comets D came up big and killed that threat. #2 busted through
the line for Hackensack, forcing a fumble and recovering the loose
ball. Both sides settled in after the early turnovers, but the game
remained scoreless until about midway through the first half. The
Wreckin Crew ended that on a 25 yd pass from #34 Bo Bernard to #9
Keith Santos. The Comets were quick to answer on the ensuing drive
with a little trickery. A 50 yd pitch pass from #3 to #24 Miguel
caught the Wreckin Crew D sleeping. That set the Comets up deep
inside Wreckin Crew territory. Hackensack used some option mixed
with tough running and pounded the ball in the rest of the way. QB
#4 Dez went in from the 1 to tie it up with a few minutes left in
the half.
With the game tied 1-1 going into the half, both teams knew that
they were going to have to grind it out to get the W. Starting the
second half, the Wreckin Crew had trouble getting anything going and
were forced to punt. The Comets O came out with a different
approach, trying to spread the ball on short passes instead of
running. Wreckin Crew's #21 Mike Moura was able to get to the QB and
force a fumble, picked up by #3 Jay Burgos and returned for a TD. On
the ensuing drive, the Comets continued to try to get down field
with the pass. Their drive came to a halt when #17 Hakim "Adolla"
Smith picked off a pass intended for #24 Miguel who went down on the
play. The Wreckin Crew went back to the consistent ground attack of
#20 Harold Griffin and #34 Bo Bernard. #99 Frankie Serrano was a
beast on the line, driving D-linemen down field and clearing out
LB's & DB's on pulls. His blocking, along with James Lang and Jay
Burgos, opened up holes and big gains for the backfield. A long
offtackle run by Griffin brought the Wreckin Crew into the redzone.
With their backs to the wall again, the Comets D came up big with a
pick by #10 Killa. The Comets were able to move the ball on some
quick, shifty runs by #3. However they were unable to convert on
third & fourth downs, and turned it over. The next Wreckin Crew
drive was equally unsuccessful. With the ball in their hands again,
the Comets needed a score. Again they looked to the air, but an
errant pass was picked off by #21 Moura with only a few minutes left
to play. The Wreckin Crew went back to Griffin who broke off a big
run for a TD, making the score 3-1. The Comets last hopes were put
away on a third down fumble recovery by Santos.
- Bombers vs. Small Army (Bombers Win)
Being overmatched, driving far in the rain, not having cleats
all could have been reasons for the fall of the Small Army but you
wouldn't hear it come from any of their mouths. Despite the
score, the Small Army fought like an Army till the last tick on the
stop watch. The Bombers offered Mercy, they said F that.
We didn't drive all this way not to play football. This team
has heart and skill and most of all they love to play football.
They'll upset someone sleeping this year.

Week 5 Predictions
Broncos vs. Bombers ***GAME OF THE
WEEK***
Last Fall the Broncos entered the tournament a new and
unknown team but made noise instantly defeating a favored comets
team and last years Beef Bowl Co-Champs (Shockers). They edged
out a victory over the Veteran Predators in the playoffs and then
made light work of a depleted Bomber team in the tournament
championship. A game of epic proportions, the Bombers and
Broncos own the best winning percentages in Town Beef history. The
Broncos gave the Bombers their first loss ever in a 6-2 blow-out.
Can the return of Dirt and the Wing-T offense make a difference? I
look for the Bombers offense to confuse the Bronco's defense with
their play fakes, allowing room for Mikey Shakes and DaBallz to run
and Dirt the time to find open receivers downfield. I also think the
Bronco's offense can go score for score with the Bombers with
Ferriol buying himself time in the pocket and Luzzi getting open
downfield for deep passes. The two deciding factors in this game
will be can the Bombers control the clock long enough to keep the
ball out of the Bronco's hands, and can the Bombers new safety King
$T pick up Luzzi and the other Bronco WRs when the coverage breaks
down. I don't see both things happening enough for the Bombers to
win, BUT against my better judgment, I just have a feeling Dirt is
going to take control. I'll go with the Bombers in 6-5 game. Comets Ligers
The Comets are starting to remind me of the Ravens of old.
Last Fall Brawl their defense was able to win games for them but
this year the lack of Offense is their Achilles' Heal. They
might be one of the fastest teams in the league but they fail to get
the ball into their playmakers hands. The Ligers on the other
hand are very balanced. The only mistake I see them making is
not giving Bikerboy enough touches and Ricardo might be the scariest
running back in the league but he makes an impact from his Dline
spot. Most regard him as the best Dlinemen in the league.
Talent wise, these teams are even but the Ligers are clickin and
should take care of the Comets. I'm going Ligers.
Liners Falcons
Big Nig has had career days against the Falcons and is due for a
break out game this year. This is a pivotal game for both
teams. I'm very shaky about the Falcons offense, its just
unorganized. They have the skills to match up with the Liners
but they need to execute better. The Liners need to win and
win big to show they are still in the hunt for the Beef Bowl.
The Falcons are much improved on Defense but they will tire with an
inability to move the ball on offense. I'm going Liners. Preds Thunder
Match ups are key in this league, you can't go on who beat who
or by how much. Some teams just match up better then other
teams. In this game I think the Thunder match up well to the
Preds. The Thunders defense is pretty good and Waterboy can
raise the roof with lethal shots on Fox and Dymes. If Radio
shows up for the Thunder an interesting match up can occur between
him and ARock. ARock has amazing closing speed and has been a
menice to running backs this year. The Thunder's new QB is
elusive and has deseptive arm strength. Experience goes to the
Preds and they're on fire right now. I'm going Preds.
Underdoggs Small Army
Battle of the beatens. Last years Nightmare or Goof Troop?
Hell no! These are good football teams in a league with great
football teams. I've seen the Underdoggs on tape and they do
have the edge in this game. They have a good Defense led by
their D Line and they play hard. The Small Army hustles and
their secondary led by y2b loewen is pretty decent. They have
a big strong QB that can run and pass. This should be a good
game and I'm rooten for the Small Army but I gotta go Underdoggs in
this game. SE Boyz Wreckin Crew
Who is the Wreckin Crew??? If you're a team in this league and
don't know you better start wondering. They've beatin the
Veteran Falcons, the Comets, and gave Bellville a run for their
money. This will be a tough game for the SE Boyz who are in a
MUST Win situation! The SE Boyz receivers have the ability to
blow a game wide open if they get any room in the open field.
Quan at QB, RB, LB, DB or whatever B is a player that doesn't get a
lot of recognition and maybe only thought of as a scrambling QB.
He will upend you on defense and has a nose for the endzone. I
haven't seen the Wreckin Crew but judging by what they've done I'd
say they are a formidable opponent. I gotta go SE Boyz this
week.

Bombers vs. Broncos ***GAME OF THE
WEEK***
5-2
Last year the Bombers fell to the Broncos in the Fall
Brawl and since that date had this game marked on their schedules.
On the Bombers very first possession Ferriol scarped down the line
and cleaned Daballz forcing a turnover. The Broncos appeared
to have the early momentum but the Bombers Defense negated that with
a stop. The Bombers next offensive drive stalled when Dirtt
threw his first INT of the year but once again the Bombers Defense
answered the call but this time with a goal line stance.
Ferriol was sacked by Daballz on 4th down and the Bombers drove the
length of the field for a score. The Bombers Defense lead by
King T$ had 5 INTs against the top rated passing offense in the
league. Mikie Shakes lead the Bombers on Offense with his
bruising running style and moves in the open field. The
Broncos D lead by Pdatdude sacked Dirtt and bottled up Daballz in
the running game. This was a great game and you can bet the
Broncos will be more then ready if and when these two teams meat
again. Comets Ligers 2-1
Liners Falcons
DNP Preds vs. Thunder 4-3
In a game of fantastic match-ups, the Trenton Predators and Toms
River Thunder squared off in Sayreville for one of the hardest hitting
contests of the year. Trenton came out on their opening drive moving the
ball down the field with steady runs and passes from Dymes to Beym,
Cody, Jay, and Silver leading to an E. Fox TD putting the Preds up 1-0.
Toms River took over but was forced to punt on their first possession,
leading to another E. Fox TD. Toms River has too much talent to be
beaten that easily, however, and took an INT on Trenton's next
possession to the house thanks to LB #33. Opening up the 2nd half on
offense, Toms River was still finding a hard time moving the ball
because of Trenton's secondary with picks by CB's Troy and Cody and S E.
Fox, while Trenton scored on their first drive of the half with an E.
Fox to Silver TD. The Thunder's next drive ended with an INT and Trenton
took advantage of the short field for E, Fox's 3rd and final TD run of
the game. Still fighting, Toms River's defensive front forced an INT
taken in for the TD by DT #72. On Toms Rivers final drive of the game,
RB #34 scored on a 20 yard run but the game was out of reach as the
Preds ran the clock out for a hard fought win with a final score of
Trenton-4, Toms River-3.
Underdoggs Small Army
The Small Army started out spitting fire with bruising runs by
Wee Man that set up a Play Action TD pass. The Underdoggs superior
passing game is what kept the Small Army of the game. The
Underdoggs have some weapons on Offense in Pete #11 playing both WR and
QB but mainly #14 who in my opinion has emerged as one of the top
receivers in the league. On defense the Small Army shut the Doggs
running game down but their secondary couldn't contain the receivers
eventually leading to the demise of the Small Army. SE Boyz Wreckin Crew

Week 6 Predictions
SE Boyz vs. Liners ***GAME OF THE
WEEK***
Alot of times in this league the team that game plans
better wins. I think the SE Boyz have alot of Super Stars on
their team but football is like an orchestra, if your not in rhythm
you sound like shit. The Liners have less Super Stars but more
team chemistry. This is a bad match up for the Liners because
speed kills and the SE Boyz have plenty of it. The liners
front 4 are huge but I don't think fast enough to get to the point
of attack. Kenny Stot, not the super star on the Liners but
the X factor. He has moments of Brilliance, patience but
sometimes sees the pass rush before the receivers. The SE Boyz
weakness is their coverage on play action. If the Stot can
exploit this they will keep the SE Boyz on their heals giving Big
Nig more running room. This game is going to be close and the
only reason I'm picking the SE Boyz is because they're going to get
to the corner and run past the Liners. Preds vs.
Underdoggs
The Preds are amazing, they have 8 guys sometimes on their team
and still pull out victories. A Rock is emerging as a top Line
Backer in the League and although he's known as a superstar running
back E. Fox is a ball hawk in the secondary. The Underdoggs
believe it or not have a great passing game and will test the Preds
deep and often. I'm going with the Preds because they are on a
role but they better bring their A game because the Underdoggs
record is no indication of their skills.
Thunder vs. Falcons
This game has Playoff implications! The Falcons are a veteran
team but I think the Thunder is a better team. Another tough
game to call. The key match up here is the Falcons O vs the
Thunders D and I'm taking the Thunder right there. They're
fast, they hit and force turnovers. Neither of these Offenses
have shown any rhythm but the Thunder has the Better Backs in Radio
and Lori. Spano has a good arm but makes bad decisions.
If the Thunders O can score twice their defense will win this game
for them. I'm going Thunder. Bombers vs.
Wreckin Crew
The Wreckin Crew is team the Bombers know nothing about.
They've beatin some good teams and gave other top teams a run for
the money. I'm guessing they have good personnel and are
getting better each week as they adjust to the new style of
football. The Bombers are flying high and need to realize last
week is over or they could find themselves down in this game if they
fall asleep. I'm sure the Wreckin Crew will play this game
like its the Super Bowl but I'm going Bombers in this game.
Comets vs. Small Army
Comets win big, they have too much size and speed for the Small
Army.
Ligers vs. Broncos
The Broncos will be without their starting QB this week and pending
on how they adjust their offense will be the key in this game.
The Broncos have the 2nd best secondary in the league and they're
entire defense has great closing speed. On offense the Broncos
need a steady dose of Luzzi but they will be up against a great
defense. Whoever makes less mistakes on offense will win this
game. With the Absence of their signal caller I think
Bellville makes more mistakes and the Ligers win.
|
SE Boyz vs. Liners ***GAME OF THE
WEEK***
Preds vs.
Underdoggs
The Phillipsburg Underdogs came into their game against the
Trenton Predators with the focus, intensity, and hunger that speaks
louder than their 1-3 record did. The Trenton Predators came out
business as usual, with a steady dose of the same old E. Fox running for
the first TD. The Dawgs answered right away, with QB Billy connecting
deep to WR Sean for the score. Trenton came back out with fierce
blocking downfield for WR Troy to score on a WR screen, putting the
Preds up 2-1. Again, the Dawgs wouldn't be intimidated and shot back
with a pass from Billy to RB Keeno. A TD run by Fox put the Preds up 3-2
heading into halftime. Getting the ball back at half, Trenton mixed in
runs and passes on the way to an E. Fox score, going up 4-2. The Dawgs
connected with a pass from Billy to WR Pete, keeping the score close at
4-3. The Preds scored on a long drive with steady doses of power running
from Big Jay and Adam balanced with E. Fox, and stopped the Dawgs drive
to regain control. That's where things got a little dicey for the Preds,
to say the least. E. Fox had an uncharacteristic fumble forced by WR/LB
Sean which the Dawgs turned into a score on a throw from Pete to Tim.
Then hell froze over as another E. Fox fumble paved the way for the
Dawgs to tie the game up at 5-5 on a TD run from Billy. The Dawgs had
the ball first in OT, and made short work of the Preds D scoring in two
plays on a pass from Billy to Tim. The Preds answered with a TD pass
from E. Fox to Dymes. In the 2nd OT, the Preds scored on a long drive
with an E. Fox dive over the top of the pile on the goal line. The Dawgs
countered with a TD run from Tim, sending the game to triple overtime.
The Dawgs were stopped on 4th down with Speedie and Troy combining to
bat down a pass intended for Keeno, and then the Preds sealed the deal
with an E. Fox run, bringing their all-time OT record to 4-0 after
defeating the Underdogs 8-7 in 3 OT. Thunder vs. Falcons

Week 7 Predictions
Predators vs. Liners ***GAME OF THE
WEEK***
With the hardest part of their schedule in front of them
the Liners need to beat the Preds if they want to stay in the hunt for
the Playoffs. The Preds won 5 in a row and are hot right now but
you know what they say, never back a cat into the corner it will have no
choice but to attack! I've been calling for Big Nig almost every
week and he hasn't answered the call yet but this week he does!
He'll have to do it on both sides of the ball. The Preds Defense
led by one of TownBeef's best Linebackers (A-Rock) forces many
turnovers that lead to TDs. If the Liners can control the ball I
think they can out muscle the Preds and get the victory this week.
I'm going Liners.Thunder Broncos
Maybe the lock of the year if your a gambling man. The Broncos
dropped 2 in a row and are in danger of missing the playoffs if they
lose anymore. The Thunder has the physical attributes to match up
with the Broncos but the broncos have that swagger about them that will
that rolls teams over. I'm for sure picking the Broncos but it
won't be easy.
Comets Falcons
The battle for Hackensack. Former teammates about this time last
year and now they get to settle whatever broke them apart last year on
the field. I don't know why the comets have lost the games they
have but I do remember their speed and their defense. These are
two below par offensive units. The athletes are there but the
strategy is not and has been the Achilles heal for both of these teams
all year. I think the Comets are finding their grove and will roll
this week with another victory.
Small Army Wreckin Crew
The Wreckin Crew held the Bombers to their 2nd lowest points scored ever
and thats not good news for a struggling Small Army team. Size,
strength, and speed will KO the Small Army.
Underdoggs SE Boyz
The SE Boyz were very impressive last week and slowly beat up on a
good Liners team. The Liners as we know have defeated the Doggs
twice so it's no fluke. The one interesting thing about this game
is the Underdoggs have very good receiver in #14 and the SE Boyz are
week in the Secondary. There will be opportunities for the Doggs
to get on the board but PMB, Quan, and Jookz are all faster then the
fastest guy on the Doggs. I'm going with the Boyz this week. |

Week 8 Predictions
Predators vs. Broncos ***GAME OF THE
WEEK***
If you match up the common opponents for both teams the
Broncos handled the Falcons and Thunder alot better then the Preds
did. The Preds however played better games against the Bombers
and Ligers then the Broncos did. What does this mean? I
have no idea. Come Sunday I don't think either of these teams
will care about any other game but the one they'll be playing in.
We all know what both offenses are capable of, and they are very
capable but this game comes down to who stops who last. Hands
down the Predators have the better linebackers in ARock and Beym.
The Broncos have a more physical D Line and both secondaries are
pretty equal. The Preds are looking to avenge last years lost
and the Broncos are trying to stay in the playoff hunt. The
Preds have proven me wrong twice already this year can they do it
again? One of the keys in this game is one of the leagues best
Safteys and that's E Fox. He's a ball hawk and Ferriol will
have to keep a close eye on him. I'm on the fence but I don't
see the Broncos missing the playoffs and they need this win so I'm
going with the Broncos.
Bombers Comets
#1 vs. #3 and this isn't game of the week? Who makes these
decisions anyway? The Comets have quietly willed their way back to
the top of the standings and will look to prove that they should be
there this week when they take on the undefeated Bombers. These
two teams met last year in the playoffs and the Bombers were victorious
after intercepting a pass in the endzone that would have tied the game.
I've always said the Comets are the fastest team in the league but can
they get the ball to their playmakers is the question. The Bombers
D is on fire right now leading the league in many categories. The
Bombers offense has only scored 6 in its last 2 games a let down
considering they were putting up that many per game. If the
Bombers can put up at least 3 this week their D will do what they've
done and take home the W. I'm going Bombers.
Ligers vs. Falcons
Neither of these teams are really doing anything special on offense
even though they have the playmakers they just don't use them or any
type of real game plan. On defense the Ligers are very tough to
run against, they are fast and strong. Predator and DMS are 2 of
the best defensive players in the league so I would expect them to make
light work of the Faloncs run and gun style offense. Ligers win
this.
Wreckin Crew vs. Liners
The Liners have disappointed me all year. I've seen moments of
brilliance from them but no consistency. The Wreckin Crew's
defense lead by The Apprentice is one of the best in the league.
The Apprentice is the fastest biggest guy I've been on the field with in
TownBeef the dude got skills! I don't see the Liners getting much
done on Offense even though their QB Carty is very underrated and in my
opinion one of the better QBs in the league. This game comes down
to muscle and I think the Wreckin Crew have more and keep their playoff
hopes well alive. I'm going Wreckin Crew.
Thunder vs. Underdoggz.
Crap shoot. The Underdoggz will hurt you deep if your not careful,
they have that big play ability. The Thunder is very committed to
the run and I love it. It hasn't paid off too much this year but I
think in this game it will. If they can get the run game going and
cover #14 they should edge this one out and keep their playoff hopes
alive. I'm going Thunder.
SE Boyz vs. Small Army.
I'm not going to sit here and say the SE Boyz are going walk down the
Small Army's throats because you can bet your life the Small Army will
be playing this game like its the Super Bowl. They need one big
upset to make their season but I'm not sure they get it this week.
The SE Boyz have way too much speed in Quan, Jooks, and PMB. I'm
going w/the Boyz on this. |

Thunder Comets - Game of the Week
Both of these teams control their own destiny to slip
into the Playoffs. To be playing for a playoff spot this late
in the season is huge and makes this game of the week! I
haven't seen alot of either team so this is a hard one to call.
The Comets have been known for the stingy defense and not the best
of offenses. 2 weeks ago the Comets erased any doubts of their
week offense when they hung a season high of 4 points on the
Bombers, the leagues top rated defense. I don't see the
Thunder going blow for blow with a fast Comets team. This game
could be close but I'm going Comets.
SE Boyz Ligers
Both teams have locked up the playoffs and the SE Boyz pending a
loss to the Falcons have clinched a first round bye. If this
game had playoff implications I would say it was game of the week.
It is possible these teams might be holding punches just in case
they do meet in the playoffs they wouldn't want to reveal each
others game plans. The Ligers have the fastest most physical
defense hands down even if their numbers don't show it. The SE
Boyz are like the Rams of old, they have stupid speed on Offense and
can run up the score in a hurry. Even if the Ligers can
contain Quan they wont be able to contain the rest of the speed
demons. The one weakness the SE Boyz have is their secondary
plays way to aggressive and gets beat on deep plays. If the
Ligers can stretch the field on the Boyz it might open some things
up but not enough to go blow for blow. I think the SE Boyz
have too much speed for the Ligers so I'm going SE Boyz.
Falcons Underdoggs
The Falcons are frustrated at this point in the season and all
though they'd like to get a W this week I think if one
thing during the game doesn't go their way they might just hang it
up. Their run and shoot offense lead by Westbrooke will wear
on an unsuspecting defense. I think this game is a shoot out
and the Underdoggs have more guns on Offense so they get the W this
week.
Preds Wreckin Crew
The Preds really confused me last week getting beat up by the
Broncos. I didn't expect them to win but I did expect a better
game. The Preds have gotten by Sub Par teams with E. Fox's
scrambling ability from the QB position but against a faster more
aggressive defense I don't think it's going to work. I really
think the Preds need to keep Dymes at QB and Fox at RB. The
Preds also have a top reciever on their team in Troi that Dymes is
more capable of airing it out to then Fox. Don't get me wrong
Fox is a good QB but taking him away from RB brings the Preds from a
triple threat to a single threat. The Wreckin Crew continues
to impress me with their Dlinemen and their offensive game plan.
These guys are running plays and running them well. Not a big
name in the League like Dirtt or Ferriol but UNYCE is doing his
thing zippen accurate passes to his favorite receiver #9 and
slashing up opposing defenses when he takes off with the ball.
The Preds need a win to stay alive, they've been here before and
know what their doing I'm going Preds.
Broncos Small Army
The Small Army loves football and so every week they get to play
is a victory. Sometimes we get caught up in the trash talk,
the records, stats and all that but the Small Army's Big Hearts
remind me of how much fun football is suppose to be. They have
some speed, some weapons and some decent game planning and I look
for them to be more competitive next year. It's unfortunate
they are at the end of a dark tunnel and wont see the train coming
through this week. I'm going Broncos.
Bombers Liners
While most people would think this game is going to be a route
they don't realize these teams have history, they've played 3 times.
The Bombers offense and defense is no secret to a Liners team that
has seen it all before. The Bombers will be missing JD (knee)
Robby Holmes (hand) and Daballz (back) and possibly a few from their
secondary because of other obligations during game time. The
Bombers have locked up their first round bye and the Liners need
this W. Big Nig has the most rushing yards against a Bombers
defense out of any other running back or QB in the league. I
look for the Liners to make a stand this game. The Bombers
still have game breaking players like Dirtt, Shakes, and King$ that
can single handedly take over any football game so although it could
be a struggle I'm going with the Bombers. |
